Going to a funeral today! A young cousin died of breast cancer at the age of 36, and her daughter was only about 4 years old! In the past 10 months, she had discovered breast cancer, had her breasts removed, and gone through 10 chemotherapy and 4 radiotherapy treatments. In the end, there was no cure. Wasn't she treating her hard enough? She worked hard for treatment, but it was very painful for her to go through the last part of her life. Seeing her painful treatment, I only told myself one thing: If I find cancer, I would rather choose not to receive treatment! Recently, I often hear many people say: Doctors often recommend patients to undergo surgery. A neighbor’s mother is about 50 years old. Due to long-term poor posture, the doctors at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital also recommended her to have surgery. Now she chooses not to have surgery. After her efforts in rehabilitation, her body pain is gradually relieved. In the past, she ate painkillers like candy and needed to take painkillers 4-5 times a day! I saw my cousin undergoing treatment at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. She also had splitting headaches. She was in the late stages of cancer treatment and was using painkillers quite frequently! Is modern medicine progress? Or is it regressing? I have no idea!
I attended the Sunday service on Sunday. The little baby in the picture is called Peter Chen! His grandma wanted to dedicate him to God! This Peter has the same name as Peter, the oldest disciple of Jesus, and this Peter was a premature baby. He was only 1,200 grams when he was born. He stayed in an incubator for a month! Thank you Lord! This brother Peter looks quite healthy now. He is only 4-5 months old. He is a fat boy who loves to laugh! (Mark 16:17) And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;~I must also thank the Lord! My mom’s hand didn’t undergo surgery and she’s recovering now! All glory and praise to God!
In our generation, we are often very superstitious about "medicine". We believe that medicine can cure all diseases, but I must tell you: God's power conquers everything! For "whoever believes", signs and wonders will follow them! What the Bible says is absolutely true! My mother’s hands are testimony to that! Brother Peter Chen is also a witness! This cousin who passed away from breast cancer made me think about several things vigilantly: 1. Who is in control of a person’s life? What human life cares about is "one breath"! Human life is in the hands of the Creator! No matter how advanced medical science is, I know: The Creator still controls the breath of life of each of us! Why am I so sure? I have visited many terminal cancer patients, and I have also visited many terminally ill patients, but this cousin is probably the most sober cancer patient I have ever seen, and the cancer patient least likely to die. But the only thing she lacks is a breath! She told the people closest to her: She is tired! She is too tired to live! What is the most important thing in life: Breath!
2. What is the most important thing in life? Many people pursue "fame and wealth" throughout their lives. When we face life and death, "fame and wealth" will never be important anymore! 3. What is true love? Is true love "crying" when he are sick? Or should he die with a grand burial and cry? True love is: "genuine care and love" when a person is alive, not all superficial vanity after death! Professor Zeng Shiqiang said: What do people pursue in life? People just want a "good death"! A truly happy person is one who dies without suffering from illness! In this world for 2000 years, we all think that Jesus died tragically, but I must tell everyone that no one who has undergone various cancer treatments now has an easier death than Jesus! Jesus was punished for death only one day. Think about it again: Who among the modern people died more easily in the hospital than Jesus?
Let’s think about it again: What did Jesus say before he died? Jesus said: It is finished! Each of us must face death. Where there is birth, there must be death! What matters in life is not the length of life, but whether we will say at the last moment of life: It’s done or finish? Can we truly fulfill our mission in this life like Jesus did? Can we face death as calmly as Jesus did? This is the most important issue in our lives! We are all passers-by in this world! Regardless of whether we are poor or rich, we must face death. What is our mentality when we face death? This is the most important learning direction in our lives!
