Nothing Changed for the Passover!

April 15, 2022

Today is Passover and it looks like nothing has changed! We often hear a saying: no change is the best change! Is no change really the best change? I had changed because I banned by Facebook again!

Passover is to commemorate God bringing the Israelites out of Egypt. If God did not bring the Israelites out of Egypt, all the Israelites would be slaves of the Pharaoh! Warm water can cook frogs, just because frogs don't want to "change"! Frogs have become accustomed to warm water, they have no strength to jump outside, what's more ~ they don't want to jump outside anymore! I have been telling many Christians: Israel's exodus from Egypt was definitely not voluntary, but the Egyptians drove the Israelites out of Egypt. If the Egyptians did not drive the Israelis out, the Israelis would still be slaves!  There are two kinds of "change": First, you have to change in order to survive! 2. I feel that I really don’t want to continue, I am willing to change! The first situation is what the Israelites faced! Environment, reality let us change!

Environmental realization allows us to change, which is what the general public often does! Like the Israelis, like the Ukrainians, like we are now! Ukrainians because of the civil war, everyone had to change! What about us? We have to change for inflation, for Covid! Our change is not to make our life better, but to make us grounded and keep us in line with the generation! Our change is to follow the trend! Are Christians, Christianity changing? Of course there are changee a lot! Christians and Christianity have been changing, they have been striving to be in line with the generation, and they have been striving to destroy the Creator! Will our "changes" make our lives different? That's why we want to "change"!  Changing yourself for the sake of being line in the generation is the stupidest reason to change yourself!

Yesterday suddenly thought of Peter, and Jesus said to Peter: (Matthew 4:19) And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.~ Brother Peter and a group of fishermen, drop their nets and follow Jesus! Why did Peter and these fishermen give up their over ten years of work? We should pay special attention to a few things: 1. The fisherman has not seen Jesus perform miracles at all!  2. The fishermen already have a job at hand, and they've all accomplished something in their field! They have their own fishing boat! The fishermen following Jesus and the Israelites out of Egypt were completely different ideas! The Israelites had seen miracles, and they were driven out of Egypt by the Egyptians! And when the fishermen were called by Jesus, they put down their nets and followed Jesus!  Who believes in God?

We often say: We can't believe in God because we haven't seen miracles! How many people will hold on to the faith even if there are miracles in our lives? The disciples lived with Jesus over 3 years. The disciples saw many miracles. After Jesus was nailed to the cross, the disciples scattered like birds run away! So the power to "change" yourself is not in miracles and Jesus, but in yourself! Peter and the fishermen know their daily life, fishing and selling fish for a lifetime! They will immediately put down their fishing nets and follow Jesus, because they feel that Jesus is different from ordinary people! Jesus first told them to fish somewhere, and the disciples had just been fishing there for a night without any harvest, but Jesus told them to be in the same place and do the same thing, the nets were full of fish, and none of the nets were full but no break! Why can't experienced fishermen catch fish as well as ordinary people?

The fisherman knew that Jesus was not ordinary because what Jesus did was not ordinary! Jesus didn't tell the disciples: I want you to catch more fish and make more money! Jesus told the fishermen who let down their nets and followed Him: I will make you fish for men! What does it mean? Winning people does not mean more money or wealth, but Jesus did a special thing - winning people! These people will follow Jesus because they are tired of the busy days of life! Christians first ask themselves: Why do we go to church? What the hell are we doing now? Do we have to wait until the last moment of our lives to change?
